Penn Circle is raising the bar for apartment living on the north side of Indianapolis. The only new property currently available in the city of Carmel is ready for residents to move in and call the community home.

Milhaus Development, LLC is the developer for the 193 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Rents range from $815 to $1,450 per month. The community includes 21 different designer floor plans between 543 and 1,256 square feet. Upscale details include granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hard surface flooring, 42” cabinets, Grohe bath faucets and upgraded lighting fixtures.

Penn Circle’s brand of “Conscious Living” is defined by a focus on “Community, Wellness and Environmental Features.” It is reflected in all of its design, services and amenities. Specific features include:

  • Resort-style pool with private cabanas
  • Lush courtyard with fire pit, outdoor kitchen and art sculpture
  • Entertainment lounge with demonstration kitchen
  • Conference room
  • Concierge services
  • Art gallery
  • Fitness studio with personal training
  • Complimentary bikes for resident use
  • Valet trash and recycling service
  • Energy Star washers and dryers in each home

The community is also well positioned to complement the emerging mass transit system. The apartments are within walking distance of Meijer in Carmel, which is a location for the Indy Express commuter bus. Sidewalks provide easy access to public transit for commuting to downtown Indianapolis.

Milhaus partnered with Gershman Brown Crowley, Inc. and the Gene B. Glick Company on the project. Milhaus and Gershman Brown Crowley have jointly listed 0.76 acres at the property for retail uses and the Gene B. Glick Company is building and managing the apartments. The approximately $20 million investment was financed by PNC Bank.

In less than three years since it was formed, Milhaus currently has approximately $94 million of development under construction in the greater Indianapolis area. Other projects include two in the pre-leasing stage: the Mozzo Apartments in the Holy Rosary neighborhood and Solana Apartments at the Crossing near the Fashion Mall. Also, the former Bank One Operations Center in downtown Indianapolis will begin leasing in the spring of 2013.
