One Team, Infinite Possibilities

As a company spread across many markets, we have to get creative when it comes to unifying as one team. Over the years, one important way we've been able to successfully implement this initiative has been creating an "all-company" Day of Service. While not always on the exact same day, Milhaus teams across the country each participate in a designated Day of Service with their own applicable local organization. In doing so, we're able to collectively give back to our communities in a unified manner regardless of geographic locations. After taking last year off, we couldn't have been more excited to see this date back on our calendars!

At Milhaus, a key vision across the company is to enhance our vibrant and diverse communities and typically, this leads us to focus our philanthropic support on urban parks and education. However, when it comes to coordinating these efforts across the country, sometimes you just go where you're needed! At the end of the day, we're still sticking to our mission of making a positive impact on our neighborhoods and our culture of standing together as one team.

And that we did! From park and trail cleanups in the Midwest to beach cleanups in Florida, check out all the ways #TeamMilhaus leaned into our values and the power of transforming neighborhoods below!

Indianapolis, HQ

Our Indianapolis Corporate Office and Indianapolis properties including Artistry Indy, Grid, Pinnex, Edge 35, 747, The MK and AYR spent their day with Indianapolis Cultural Trail, a local nonprofit that works to ensure the Cultural Trail is a world-class public space for residents and visitors to enjoy. The eight-mile trail connects neighborhoods, cultural districts and entertainment amenities throughout downtown – including our very own office!

Our Virginia Avenue HQ is situated squarely on the Cultural Trail, and this year, the team planted over 150 perennials, picked up more than 60 five-gallon buckets of litter and cut back a truckload’s worth of overgrown foliage on the trail along Virginia Avenue.

Kansas City

The Kansas City Corporate team and Kansas City properties Gallerie, Artistry KC, Arrello and Urbane partnered with KC Parks, an organization that provides facilities, programs and recreational opportunities for the community that contributes to an aesthetically pleasing environment and enhanced quality of life.

The Milhaus team helped repaint an entire pool that was covered in graffiti in Gillham Park. The team used roughly 40 whole gallons of paint to revive and beautify the pool!

Tampa

In sunny Florida, our Tampa Corporate team and Tampa and St. Pete properties of Artistry St. Pete, Lector 85, Notch and HITE partnered with Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit committed to eliminating poverty housing. The team assisted with finishing touches on one of Habitat’s newest builds and helped with everything from hanging blinds and mirrors to painting, assembling cabinetry, lots of cleaning and more. The team was thrilled to assist Habitat for Humanity and play a role in giving a deserving family a house they can call home.

In addition to corporate hubs, many of our individual properties across the country also joined the fun in service of their local communities:

LIFT, Oklahoma City, OK

The LIFT property team partnered with the Central Oklahoma Humane Society to help prepare for a local adoption event by decorating the Humane Society, putting together crates and filling Kongs with tasty treats for all of the dogs.

Versol, Bonita Springs, FL

The Versol community helped clean the local Bonita Springs beaches with Ocean Conservancy, an organization dedicated to protecting the water, land, wildlife and future of Southwest Florida. Their small but mighty team collected four five-gallon buckets of trash along the beach.

Arsenal 201, Pittsburgh, PA

The Arsenal team came together for a self-led Lawrenceville neighborhood cleanup on the 40th Street Bridge to maintain the beauty of their community’s public spaces. Together, the team collected 10 full bags of trash. The team also noted that “TONS” of residents honked their car horns and yelled thank you out the window to them while they cleaned!

Milhaus is passionate about supporting and enhancing the unique neighborhoods in which we reside. Are you? Come join our team!
