Milhaus begins construction on the $52 million, 274-apartment community.

INDIANAPOLIS (August 9, 2021) — Milhaus, a national award-winning developer, owner and operator of Class-A multifamily properties, today announces its latest Kansas City project and first in Wyandotte County: A new apartment community being developed within the forthcoming Homefield sports and entertainment district. The $52 million garden-style project will allow future residents to live in the heart of the burgeoning retail and recreation hub and will be located at 9400 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas, 66132.

The apartment complex will feature 274 units, including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, and 508 onsite parking spaces including surface lots and private garages. The unique community will offer sought-after amenities such as a pet-friendly bark park, multiple indoor and outdoor resident lounges, coffee + tea bars within a resident kitchen, event space with conference rooms and coworking spaces, and outdoor amenities such as fire pits, a sun deck and a pool. For active residents, the site will have a comprehensive facility equipped with a state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga studio and bike storage.

Residents will have easy access to nearby retail and commercial amenities as part of the overall Homefield development, and throughout KCK. Located just 21 minutes from Downtown Kansas City, the 18-acre development is surrounded by the Kansas Speedway, Legends Outlets Kansas City, and easy access to support the Sporting KC soccer club at Children's Mercy Park and Compass Minerals National Performance Center.

“We’re thrilled to be a partner for the residential portion of the master-planned development and breathe fresh life into the neighborhood with easy access to the city,” said John McGurk, Vice President of Development at Milhaus. “We look forward to growing with the Homefield Development and Wyandotte County and developing another walkable, amenity-rich community in the Kansas City area.”
