Milhaus announces strategic $5 million investment with Xiber

INDIANAPOLIS (May 17, 2019) – Milhaus, an award-winning developer, owner and operator of secondary market, Class A urban infill, mixed-use and multifamily residential buildings, today announces a strategic $5 million investment with Indianapolis-based Xiber. Areas of focus for the capital investment are sales, customer support and executive leadership.

Xiber, headquartered at the Pyramids, is a fast-growing, nationwide high-speed internet service provider that deploys cutting-edge, fixed-wireless radio systems, fiber-optic networks, and home automation applications. The company specializes in multi-family and commercial deployments and currently services select Milhaus properties in Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and Tampa. Milhaus along with multi-family real estate owners Birge & Held and the Hageman Group are part of this strategic investment and are seeking co-investors to fund the Xiber’s growth objectives.

Steve Werner, current Milhaus director of technology, is transitioning to Xiber to serve as vice president of customer operations. In this role, Werner’s background in real estate, and more specifically in the multi-family industry, will be instrumental in leading efforts to enhance the customer experience for Milhaus residents and grow the Xiber customer base.

Milhaus is a privately held company with a  team of over 200 professionals working in nine markets across the country. The majority of employees live and work in Indianapolis, Ind. The company has projects in Indianapolis, Ind.; Cincinnati, Oh.; Kansas City, Mo.; Oklahoma City, OK; Memphis, Tenn.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Tampa, Fla.; St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Bonita Springs, Fla. Milhaus targets Tier II cities with populations between 750,000 and 2 million people. The current portfolio includes over 19 properties, in 8 states and nearly 4,200 units.
