INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 1, 2020)Milhaus, a national award-winning developer, owner and operator of class A, in-fill and mixed-use developments, today announces Arrello, a $37 million apartment project located at 110 & 120 S. Chestnut Street in downtown Olathe, Kansas.

Expanding Milhaus’ Kansas City footprint, Arrello is the company’s first project in Olathe, Kansas, an “urb-suburb” city just 30 minutes from downtown KC. Arrello will include 228 apartment units ranging from studio to 3 bedrooms and 350 surface and structured parking spaces. The pet-friendly community is situated within Olathe’s downtown district that is growing more vibrant and diverse by the day and reflective of the neighborhood’s historic past.

“This neighborhood is a thriving hub of government and professional services, small businesses, restaurants and cultural opportunities with great public art throughout,” said John McGurk, Vice President of Development for Milhaus. “Just around the corner is the newly constructed Johnson County Courthouse, and there’s an exciting amount of additional commercial redevelopment happening along Santa Fe Street that will offer future Arrello residents great walkability.”

A key locale on the Santa Fe Trail, Olathe’s history is intertwined with thousands of settlers looking to improve their lives and find a sense of community. Arrello follows in that same tradition. Its name is based on the term “relocation,” hearkening to the many voices and people who interacted along the Trail. Arrello is a community where people looking to form connections and access opportunity can come together, and construction coincides with the Santa Fe Trail’s Bicentennial in 2021.

Top-tier amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center, pet spa, outdoor kitchen with grilling area, resort-style saltwater pool, community courtyard with a fire pit, coffee and tea bar, resident lounge and co-working space, bike parking and storage, a maker’s room and more.

Milhaus is partnering with Davidson Architecture + Engineering (DA+E) to bring Arrello to downtown Olathe. This is the fifth project by Milhaus in the Kansas City area. Arrello is set to open in the winter of 2021-2022.

Founded in 2010, Milhaus targets Tier II cities with populations between 750,000 and 2 million people. The company’s current portfolio includes over 20 properties in eight states and nearly 4,200 units.
