What’s your favorite aspect of the intern experience at Milhaus so far? The PEOPLE. The people at Arsenal 201 and Milhaus HQ have been some of the kindest and most genuine people I've ever met. Everyone is always so happy and excited to be doing what they're doing.

One thing you want to take away from your internship this summer? I want to know if this truly is the industry that I want to end up in! I really think Milhaus will guide me to that answer... although I'm pretty sure I already know the answer! :)

What’s your favorite aspect of the intern experience at Milhaus so far?

The experience I am gaining, as well as the level of trust my project manager has placed in me, with the levels of responsibility in my work increasing with every task.

What is something you love about Milhaus?

I personally love the atmosphere and how my team operates on a daily basis.

Michael Thottichira

What are you most looking forward to during the program?I am looking forward to learn as much as I can through this internship program. Already I have learned so much from Brad, Tom, and Spencer and I find myself learning more every day.

Why did you choose Milhaus?I chose Milhaus because I was an intern in property management last year and enjoyed my time tremendously. I liked the work hard play hard and really wanted to come back again.

Thomas Krienke

Finance

Hometown: Avon, IN

School: IUPUI

What are you most looking forward to during the program?I am looking forward to building my professional skills throughout this internship. It takes time to develop the technical and the soft skills that comes with starting a career and I hope that this program will give me a head start prior to graduation.

When looking for a summer internship, what is one thing you were specifically looking for?I was looking for an experience that I felt would be more meaningful than errands or busy work. In addition, I wanted to experience working with a type of company that I could actually see myself at in the future.

Lucas Bordenkecher

IT

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

School: Purdue

What’s your favorite aspect of the intern experience at Milhaus so far? The workplace environment is fantastic and is definitely one of my favorite things thus far. It makes getting up in the morning easier knowing that my teammates are just as glad to be working here as I am.

Please share something you have accomplished during the program thus far. My first project consisted of creating a "golden Windows image" to apply to every new laptop. This allows for the desktop environment to be setup with files and programs pre-installed, significantly reducing the time needed to apply the same options manually. Some of the laptops in the office are recipients of this easier process already!

Drake Wang

Capital Markets

Hometown: Carmel, IN

School: Indiana University

What are you most looking forward to during the program? Getting a more detailed look at the people and processes that have made Milhaus so successful in a relatively short amount of time.

One thing you want to take away from your internship this summer? The biggest takeaway I am looking for is a much deeper understanding of real estate investment and development. I want to understand both the high-level way deals are made and conducted, but also the more detailed groundwork and due diligence that makes them successful.

Itzel Portillo

Marketing

Hometown: Fishers, IN

School: Ball State University

What’s your favorite aspect of the intern experience at Milhaus so far? The people at Milhaus are so great! Not only is everyone I have meet extremely welcoming and kind, but they have also gone above and beyond to truly integrate me as part of Team Milhaus. It has been so great to work with other professionals that share the same passions as me and are always willing to lend a helping hand!

What is something you think helped you stand out during the interview process? I brought in sample work pieces that I had from past experiences and shared them during my interview. I think bringing in those physical examples really helped to show my passion for content creation and my willingness to learn.

Jacob Poore

Accounting

Hometown: Fishers, IN

School: Indiana University

One thing you want to take away from your internship this summer? One thing to take away from this experience is how the construction and development industries work. I never knew how accounting changed across industries and it has been cool to learn about all the different processes going on.

What’s your favorite aspect of the intern experience at Milhaus so far? My favorite thing is that every day seems to be different. The work I do changes on a daily basis, some days I am involved in meetings, and at least 1 day a week there seems to be a culture event going on for the whole office.

Katelyn Garland

They are readily available to answer any questions that I have and encourage me to partake in meetings or other learning opportunities.

What is something you love about Milhaus? I love the energy here at HQ! We have a lot of fun while also working very hard towards our goals. It's a great balance!

Mitch Hebenstreit

What is something you think helped you stand out during the interview process? Having a lot of different work experiences and expressing my interest in the company

What are you most looking forward to during the program? Being able to see four different properties and see the similarities and differences of them both.

Ryan Feely

What is something you love about Milhaus? Working with people who are passionate about what they do, but don't take it too seriously to where they are not enjoyable to work with. They all have great attitudes and always joke around which I believe is an important aspect of a progressive work environment.

What is something unique about you and how does this carry over to your professional life? I am a very reasonable person and emphasize on creating good relationships while also working hard. I always have a willingness to learn. This carries over because great relationships with the people you work with, as well as having a willingness to learn, is essential, especially in construction.
