mixed use maxwellMilhaus Development, LLC is pleased to announce that Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) has signed on to become the first commercial tenant at The Maxwell Apartments.

The Maxwell, which is located at 530 East Ohio Street in the Cole Noble District, has 105 luxury apartment units and 11,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space. Milhaus Development, which partnered with the Gene B. Glick Company to purchase The Maxwell in December 2010, is responsible for leasing and converting the first floor of the building into office and retail space. CEC will occupy 2,750 square feet of end cap space.

“We were confident that we would be able to find commercial tenants for The Maxwell. It is a tremendous property with a great deal of potential for clients like CEC,” said David Leazenby, Principal, Milhaus Development. “Bringing businesses into the building also adds to the economic base and the revitalization of the Cole Noble District, a project we believe in greatly.”

With its location at The Maxwell, CEC will now have 12 operating offices in eight states. The company believes this growth will enable it to reach out and create new business relationships while continuing to nurture those with its existing clients.

“This new space is ideal for our business and its future. We are anxious to work with clients and showcase the services that CEC has available to them,” said Aaron Hurt, Vice President, Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. “We are also proud to be the first commercial tenant in The Maxwell. It goes beyond leasing space in the building; we are also helping to bring new life to this urban area.”

The apartments of the five-story, contemporary art-deco building are nearly 100 percent leased. Each unit has high-end finishes such as granite countertops and hardwood floors. Floor plans include studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments with rents starting at $815 per month.
