Our growth is getting noticed. Milhaus led the pack this week when the Indianapolis Business Journal released its annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in central Indiana called the “Fast 25”.

Companies are ranked based on their revenue growth over a three-year period. Ranked first, Milhaus has grown 651 percent with a 2014 revenue of $41 million. Read more here: http://www.ibj.com/fast25-2015

Currently, Milhaus is working on developments in eight markets, with more on the way, Tadd Miller attributes the growth to market timing and strong relationships with capital sources. “Our growth has been fast, but steady with a focused effort on strategic planning and building the infrastructure to develop, construct and manage extraordinary properties,” said Miller, CEO, Milhaus. “We have built a tremendous organization of talented people who will help us envision, develop and manage more creative reuses of older sites to enhance neighborhoods while filling in underutilized properties and buildings.”

With a goal to have 20,000 units in 10 markets by 2020, plenty of projects are still on the horizon.

Companies were eligible for IBJ’s list if:
• revenue increased each fiscal year;
• revenue exceeded $1 million in fiscal year 2012;
• the company was an independent, privately held corporation, proprietorship or partnership (not a subsidiary or division) through Dec. 31, 2014;
• the company was founded before fiscal year Jan. 1, 2012;
• the company was based in the Indianapolis area (Marion, contiguous and Madison counties).

Last year, Milhaus was recognized as one of the 2014 Indiana Companies to Watch, an awards program presented by the Indiana Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (OSBE), its Indiana Small Business Development Center, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), and endorsed by the Edward Lowe Foundation.

Milhaus began in 2009 with two employees and an intern. The company now has more than 150 employees in several states and recently moved to new headquarters after renovating the former Shirley Engraving property at 460 Virginia Ave. in Fletcher Place.
