A culinary-driven menu, seasonal specialties and an open kitchen atmosphere highlight Newk’s Eatery, the latest dining option planned for The Shops at Highland Row, a Memphis lifestyle center with local as well as national retailers and restaurants.

This fall, Newk’s, a fast casual restaurant, will open its second Memphis location at 387 S. Highland Street, near the University of Memphis. The Mississippi-based dining option features an evolving menu developed by Newk’s CEO and co-founder, Chris Newcomb.

Newk’s offers a unique level of service and hospitality with dine-in, takeout and on-site catering. The popular restaurant has remained steadfast in its commitment to quality, serving made-from-scratch sandwiches, fresh and flavorful salads, soups and artisan pizzas.

At Highland Row, Newk’s will join The Casual Pint, a craft beer market and Char Restaurant. Father and son team, Nathan and Jon Robinette, opened their first location of The Casual Pint in Knoxville’s Bearden neighborhood in 2011. Beer lovers will have the choice of a bar where they can meet friends, as well as takeout for enjoyment at home.

Char is steak restaurant with a wine bar where lunch, dinner, brunch and private dining are available seven days a week. The menu will feature fresh seafood, high-quality steaks and home-style sides.

Highland Row is a major new mixed-use project near the University of Memphis on Highland, just south of Central. As one of the most significant developments in years, Highland Row is a destination for those who want high-quality shopping, dining and a cultural community atmosphere.

Located on Highland just south of Central, Highland Row is a shared project between Milhaus Development LLC and Memphis-based Poag Shopping Centers LLC. The $58 million investment includes retail space, studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom residences and a parking garage.
