Milhaus’ Michael Key Accepts Invitation To Serve As President Of Ball State University Construction Management Advisory Board

INDIANAPOLIS (June 6, 2018) – Milhaus, an award-winning developer specializing in Class A urban infill, mixed-use and multifamily residential buildings, today announces team member Michael Key, regional director of construction based in Tampa, Fla., has accepted an invitation to become president of Ball State University Construction Management Advisory Board.

Key graduated from BSU in 2012 with a construction management degree. He joined the Milhaus team with a range of experience including working on project teams that managed Butler University Hinkle Fieldhouse renovations, the Indianapolis Zoo International Orangutan Center, and various healthcare facilities. He’s also worked on a $120 million multi-family/mid-rise hotel project in Nashville.

Key is the first BSU program alumni member to lead this advisory board. He said he’s honored to be offered the opportunity to give back to the university and the program that built the foundation of his career. “I am looking forward to many things in the new role, but the most important is the impact on the students’ education and future success coupled with the impact to the industry. I look forward to giving guidance on educational items in an ever-changing industry and providing input where it is needed,” says Key. During his term, Key wants to focus on continuing to grow the Advisory Board, help bring more resources to the program, and give the students a chance to meet great individuals & companies in the industry.

The BSU construction management program was established in 2004. “We’re excited Michael agreed to this leadership role. His involvement in the program stretches back to his time as an undergraduate, where he was involved in our CM program and in various campus activities,” says James W. Jones, Ed.D. chairperson BSU Department of Construction. “This involvement has continued over the years. He brings real-world, practical experience combined with an excitement to serve, and we know he will do an outstanding job.”

Continuing to expand its footprint within the United States, Milhaus is pursuing strategic growth opportunities in new and existing markets such as Kansas City to reach its goal of having 20,000 units in 10 markets by 2020. Milhaus currently has projects under development in Indianapolis, Ind.; Cincinnati, Oh.; Kansas City, Mo.; Memphis, Tenn.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Tampa, Fla.; St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Bonita Springs, Fla.
