Construction and retail preleasing are underway for Highland Row, a major new mixed-use project near the University of Memphis. As one of the most significant developments in years, Highland Row will be a destination for those who want high quality shopping, dining as well as the cultural community on campus.

Highland Row, located on Highland just south of Central, is a shared project between Milhaus Development LLC and Memphis-based Poag Shopping Centers LLC. The $56 million investment includes 27,000 square feet of retail space, 354 apartment homes, and a 520 space parking garage.

As a lifestyle center, The Shops at Highland Row will be a shopping and dining destination of choice, with local as well as national retailers and restaurants.

Preleasing for the retail space has already begun. “We’ve had tremendous interest by a wide range of potential retailers and restaurants. There are options to meet many business needs. Convenience and accessibility will be key features of The Shops at Highland Row,” said Jon Isbell, Senior Leasing Representative, Poag Shopping Centers. “Visitors will be able to park near their favorite shops and eateries and walk right in. The open air design adds to a relaxing, inviting experience.”

The Residences at Highland Row bring the convenience of urban living to the University of Memphis neighborhood for those interested in a center-city, highly walkable area. There will be a mix of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom homes with contemporary urban finishes such as granite countertops, designer lighting, in-unit laundry, and wood-style flooring.

“We hope to create a warm, thriving community for residents and visitors alike,” said Greg Martin, Vice President of Development, Milhaus. “The combination of the development and the University of Memphis will support a culturally enriched lifestyle.”

Preleasing for the residences will begin in the fall with first move-ins scheduled in January.

The property is co-developed by Milhaus Development, LLC and Poag Shopping Centers, LLC. The property will be constructed by Milhaus Construction, LLC and managed by Milhaus Management, LLC.
